What is Credibility?
The credibility system was devised as a way to strengthen the community of gamers and promote those who truly stand out from the crowd either by skill, knowledge or general willingness to give back to the community. We believe these people deserve recognition and we have set out to make that happen. The Credibility System is a point system whereby members who win tournaments, write articles, or submit content, or help the community are awarded credit (short for credibility). As you earn more credibility, you can gain levels, (much like experience points) and with each level comes more responsibility, greater control over the site, and more doors become unlocked for you.
By doors we mean multiple things. The higher your level…
the more content you unlock on the site.
the more cash and prize giveaways you qualify for.
the more your vote counts.
As you take a look around, you’ll notice that you can rate posts in the forum as well as many other areas of our site. By rating the items, you are interacting and affecting other peoples’ credibility. You can even adversely affect postings by giving them a negative rating and as mentioned before, the higher your level the more your vote is counted.
I Posted Something but I Didn’t Get Any Credit
In order for credit to appear on your account, it must first be approved by an administrator. This prevents any offensive and/or illegal material from being posted on our site. If your submission is still not added within 72 hours, then please contact your site manager or administrator via private message and they will be happy to find out what happened to your proposed content.
How many levels are there?
The credibility levels are currently capped at 20. This may change in the future but someone will have to get there first, before we can start thinking about changing the structure.
What if I cheat?
GameAmp keeps a record of everything you do on our site. Each user’s ratings and submissions are stored in our database and if we find that someone has been abusing the system we will ban that account on site. In addition all accounts that are involved will also be banned. All personal information will also be banned from all GameAmp sites and that user, or users, will no longer be qualified to win prizes or compete in any tournaments sanctioned by GameAmp. Yes it is a harsh punishment but we want to keep the GameAmp network and enjoyable place for everyone involved and cheating is not tolerated.
In addition, if it is found that an exploit was used to win any cash or prizes from GameAmp, that person will be prosecuted under the full penalty of the law by GameAmp, Inc.
What Should I Do Now?
Post and submit! Find information you think is valuable or write your own hints, tips, or articles and post them to the site. Help the community to grow and help the game site(s) of your choice to become a wealth of information available to the public. In return you will be well on your way to becoming one of the most known gamers in the world with the chance of winning some great prizes along the way.
